I feel as though I am bursting with thoughts about trying to live a slower more multidimensional life in an area of the USA that is so fast paced. The Jones', the technology, the speed at which people drive...am I getting old or just reevaluating what I want out of life?
I think it is for this reason I bake, cook, knit sew and create...it forces a person to slow down. My husband has suggested that I purchase the 'thing' I am making at a local store that it might cost less and be faster. But after seeing the result and my happy face, he encourages/supports me even more. It makes our house a home. And it is contagious around our house. There is often drawing, felting, crafting in between the homework. My children seems to have found a balance between their 'work' and play.
I am so happy to have found this on the internet on a blog I follow, from Soulemama, she wrote the following "For there's a bit of a revolution happening all around us, don't you think? Do you feel it? I hear it, I feel it, I see it everywhere - in people's homes, backyards, and neighborhoods as we take stock of what's most important in our lives."
She wrote this as an introduction of her new publication Taproot.
Spring is coming and I have asked a friend to give me suggestions as to where we might start a garden. We have tried before but have been unsuccessful I think in part due to our eucalyptus trees and their effect on our soil. I think this is one thing that we would enjoy as a family. My daughter's school has a garden and I see the children engaged and interested in all the aspects of garden....especially the eating part.
Thanks to all who work so hard on their blogs. I appreciate it and I am inspired!
