Darling daughters silhouette's

before stitching....
fusing felt together
fusible interfacing for fabric and felt
corners made for hanging

Singer hand operated pinking machine

Pretty wall
I really like my wall.

I followed the instructions in the book Stitched in Time with a few additions. I used a medium weight fusible interfacing for adhering the fabric to the felt, added the next fabric pieces till the final silhouette piece. I did have problems with the fabric bunching up at times and tried many methods of pinning and ironing but there are many puckers and folds at the corners. I don't think it is very noticeable. Then, instead of creating a loop of thread for the hanger on the back, I thought I could make scrappy fabric corners stitched to another piece of felt then fused the back to the main piece. Hides all the stitching, makes it thicker and adds another color. I found this techniques in the book Fabricate. I used a bamboo skewer, from the kitchen, as the hanger. My handy dandy Singer pinker machine gave the silhouette's a finishing touch.

I looks like my window is crooked...couldn't be my hanging technique or the projects...hahaha

This was a fun project with a great result. When DD #1 comes home this summer I will be sitting her down for her silhouette.

Have a great day!
