I thought a matching pair of pillowcases for a guest room would be a great project to show off Heather Ross' fabrics. We were given scraps/pieces of fabric and the challenge was to create something using the fussy cut method. Each of my pieces were cut to 4 1/2" so I tried to show-off the best of each piece that I had. I think these are a 'go with everything' type of accessory for a little girls room or guest room.

I added little bits of ribbon here & there and added french knots behind the bees to accent the pollen. I backed the piecework with a strip of fabric to protect the seams. All the seams are enclosed for wear and tear and it is finished off with french seams...whew! Sorry just notes to myself...

I love these fabrics and wish I had gotten into sewing sooner. They just make you smile

Two little strawberry pincushions using Heather Ross Briar Rose fabrics. This strawberry fabric is one of the pieces I received from the scraps given out at our guild meeting for the challenge. I found several tutorials in blog land, used some wool felt for the leaves & flowers and found beads in my daughters craft cupboard. I stuffed the strawberry's with fiberfill and stitched all the pieces, one on top of the other. They are the perfect size to fill with emery, next time.

Sunday-Dinner Hostess Apron

Something I have been wanting to make for a while. The quilt guild that I belong to is having a little challenge using Heather Ross scraps donated by one of our generous members. So I made this today, really, using a vintage tablecloth. I have a few aprons and now a half apron. This is not my entry for the challenge but it is getting me in the mood for sure.

Now to whip up some dinner, I am feeling a 'June Cleaver' moment coming ~
