Croissants

Mothers Day croissants....yummy...I have been wanting to make these for a year. They are a little time consuming but worth it!

I made two shapes. The traditional and a rolled up square shape that has chocolate chips tucked in. I was lazy and didn't want to follow the instructions for the chocolate croissants. The kids loved them For the next batch I might add a little more salt and a tad bit more sugar. These were flaky (81 layers), crispy outside and moist inside. I enjoyed mine with jam and lemon curd.

If you are thinking about making croissants for the first time I would definitely encourage you to try Mr Reinharts recipe. I read and re-read the instructions. The first time with any recipe takes me at least twice the time. I have 5 in the freezer for a later time.

oops no pictures of the golden brown baked goodness....next time
